Keycaps
OfficialThe collectible core. Rarity tiers exist ('roll and collect rare keycaps'), and your placed keycaps shape the setup you show off and upgrade.
Build A Keyboard! keeps its item list short: keycaps you roll and place, cash that buys everything, and three code-granted extras — XP, a five-minute 2x Money boost, and the Dumpling Box. Each row below names its source and the box's unknown contents are stated as unknown, not guessed.
Five item types cover everything the sources document. Keycaps and cash drive the whole game loop; the other three arrive via codes. The Dumpling Box is the interesting one: it is the only reward container in the game's documented economy, its contents are unpublished, and its very name is reported differently by different trackers. If an update adds a new currency, box, or boost, this page rechecks and the table below grows a row with its source.
All rows checked 2026-10-10; source type shown per row.
The collectible core. Rarity tiers exist ('roll and collect rare keycaps'), and your placed keycaps shape the setup you show off and upgrade.
The main currency, generated by keycaps, workers, and offline time, and spent on rolls, workers, upgrades, and expansion.
Granted by the THANK5K code (500 XP) and used for leveling and upgrades per the trackers.
A reward container from the DUMPLINGCRATE code. Whether it holds keycaps, cash, or both is not publicly documented — trackers describe Dumpling Crates as keycap drops without contents or rates.
A five-minute temporary cash multiplier from ILOVEKEYCAPS. Time it over active play, not idle time.
The three code strings, their tracker-reported rewards, and the conflict shown both ways. Full status history on the codes page.
| Code | Reported reward | Status | Grants |
|---|---|---|---|
| ILOVEKEYCAPS | 2x Money for 5 minutes | Working (tracker-listed) | The game's launch-attention code. |
| DUMPLINGCRATE | Dumpling Box (most trackers) / 2 Dumpling Crates (Roblox Den) | Working (tracker-listed) | Reward wording differs between trackers: five list a Dumpling Box, while Roblox Den lists 2 Dumpling Crates. |
| THANK5K | 500 XP | Working (tracker-listed) | A 5,000-likes thank-you code per the name and the fan-tracker milestone reading. |
Five trackers word the DUMPLINGCRATE reward as a Dumpling Box; Roblox Den words it as 2 Dumpling Crates. Both wordings agree a container is granted; neither documents its contents or rates. Treat opening one as a reveal moment, not a planned investment — and if you open one, what you saw is more than any public source currently records.
Full code status →No loot table for the Dumpling Box exists in any checked source. Any site listing one is guessing.
Rarity labels are official; the income value of any specific keycap is not published. Measure the before/after rate change.
THANK5K grants 500 XP, but no source documents level thresholds or what each level unlocks.
Five documented types: keycaps (the rolled collectible core), cash (the main currency), XP (from the THANK5K code), the 2x Money boost (from ILOVEKEYCAPS), and the Dumpling Box container (from DUMPLINGCRATE). All are checked 2026-10-10 with sources on each row below.
Not publicly documented. Trackers describe Dumpling Crates as keycap drops, but no source lists contents or drop rates, and the reward wording itself differs: most trackers say one Dumpling Box, Roblox Den says two Dumpling Crates.
Redeem the three strings in game: click the gear/Settings icon in the top-left, scroll to the Enter Code box, paste the code, and press Redeem. Each works once per account.
Rarity is official and placing better keycaps is the game's core fantasy, but no per-keycap income effect is published anywhere. Measure your earnings before and after equipping one — the planner turns that difference into payback.
For buying things, yes — cash pays for rolls, workers, upgrades, and expansion. XP levels you up, and boosts and boxes are consumables rather than currencies.
